- Everyone has valuable input to provide, even if their job is supportive.
- This company exists to make a profit, but also to enhance the lives of the people who work here.
- Inspiring people is important to me, and I excel at it.
- My employees would describe me as caring and genuine.
Do You Have a Transformational Leadership Style?
If you resonate with these statements, you probably naturally have a transformational leadership style. More transactional styles would not fulfill you. It would all seem too superficial and meaningless to hold your attention and you’d soon be looking for your next adventure.
That’s because you see the workplace as a vital part of life. Some people separate work life from “real life” and co-workers or employees from “people.” It’s as if one walked through the front door in the morning and became a cog in a wheel, running a great machine that was more important than any individual part.
To the transformational leader, such ideas are offensive. They see every worker as just as important as the company as a whole. They relate to people as human beings, regardless of what position that person holds at the company. And they wish to help each worker grow and develop as much as their position at the company can possibly support them in doing.
